Geoffrey Moncada:
We Are Not Satisfied with Results but Support Sergio Conceicao
Geoffrey Moncada, AC Milan’s technical director, despite criticizing the team’s performance, expressed support for continuing the collaboration with Sergio Conceicao.
According to reports, Geoffrey Moncada, AC Milan’s technical director, confirmed that the club is seeking a new sporting director while supporting Sergio Conceicao, despite dissatisfaction with the team’s Serie A results.
AC Milan currently sits ninth in the Serie A table but has remained unbeaten against city rivals Inter this season and reached the Coppa Italia final. Moncada said before the match against Venezia: “We are not satisfied with our Serie A position. We want better performances. Winning trophies is important, and securing two cups is significant. Our goal is to win the Coppa Italia. It’s the only way to reach European competitions, but we aim for bigger achievements.”
Sergio Conceicao has faced pressure since joining AC Milan, but will he stay until his contract expires in 2026? Moncada stated: “We are very happy. He has worked hard in these three months and brought an important approach to Milanello. We have a good collaboration.” These remarks indicate strong backing for the Portuguese coach.
AC Milan is also looking to hire a new sporting director, but recent reports from Italy suggest the appointment may not happen until mid-May. Moncada explained: “We always talk about scoring, but performance matters too. We made mistakes in many matches and can do better. We have structure, we are AC Milan, and people work hard. We are considering hiring a sporting director to take the club to the next level, but our current structure is also crucial.”
