Highest Salary for an Italian Coach
Al-Hilal’s Insane Offer to Ancelotti: €50 Million!
Saudi Arabia is ready to pay a massive salary to secure Carlo Ancelotti’s services.
According to reports, Ancelotti, who was recently considered the future coach of the Brazilian national team, is now close to a very different destination: Saudi Arabia. Several reputable Saudi media outlets claim that Al-Hilal has made a staggering offer of €50 million per season to the Real Madrid manager.
There had been previous rumors of Saudi interest in Ancelotti, with figures around €20 million per year, but now the amount has reportedly increased significantly to tempt the Italian coach.
Al-Hilal, one of Saudi Arabia’s biggest clubs, is currently managed by Jorge Jesus. The Portuguese coach was also considered a primary candidate to lead Brazil after Ancelotti declined the federation’s offer.
In December 2023, when Ancelotti was asked about the possibility of moving to Saudi Arabia—after Spanish golfer Jon Rahm joined the Saudi league for a contract exceeding $500 million—the Real Madrid coach jokingly replied: “For €500 million? I’d walk there, no need to fly! Just kidding. Everyone chooses their own path. The world is changing, and it will continue to change. Nothing surprises me anymore. Jon Rahm is great. I don’t know much about golf, but I think he’s the best.”
Now, it seems that joke wasn’t far from reality.
