After receiving the red card, he displayed aggressive behavior and had to be restrained by several members of the coaching staff.”

The wording of the referee’s report includes all elements that could lead to a severe suspension for the Real Madrid defender—a ban ranging between four to twelve matches, as stipulated for such violations. This means his potential suspension will not only apply to Copa del Rey matches but also the remaining five weeks of La Liga.

Hours after the match, once tensions had cooled, Rudiger realized his behavior at La Cartuja Stadium was inappropriate. The defender apologized on social media, writing: “There is certainly no excuse for my behavior last night. I am truly sorry. We played very well in the second half.
