Arsenal Has Many Supporters in Madrid
Atletico Fans Attack Arsenal Training: ‘Destroy Them, Arteta!’
Atletico Madrid fans stormed Arsenal’s training session today with a special request for Mikel Arteta: ‘Beat Real.’
According to reports, Arsenal’s training session in Madrid today was accompanied by bizarre scenes. Arsenal is set to face Real Madrid tonight at the Bernabeu, but it was their city rivals, Atletico Madrid fans, who showed up at the training ground to motivate the Gunners.
Arsenal is preparing for tonight’s match at the Bernabeu with much more confidence than Real. Arteta’s team defeated Real 3-0 last week in London, thanks to two exceptional free-kicks by Declan Rice.
When Arsenal players began training today, they heard noises from outside the training ground after a few minutes. Suddenly, a large group of fans, wearing Atletico jerseys and waving Atletico flags, entered the training complex.
Atletico fans surrounded Arsenal players, chanting slogans to boost their morale against Real. However, their chants directed at Mikel Arteta caught attention. The fans shouted: ‘Arteta, destroy Real. Beat them for Atletico.’
Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid are long-standing rivals in the Spanish capital, and Real’s elimination is always sweet for Atletico—especially now, as tensions between the two clubs have peaked due to the recent controversy over a disallowed penalty for Julian Alvarez. Mikel Arteta, Arsenal’s Spanish manager, clearly understood the chants from Atletico fans, which were shouted in Spanish.
