Celtic fans staged a unique protest during their team’s crucial match against Dundee United, which could have secured their Scottish Premiership title. They expressed their dissatisfaction with the club’s policies by throwing hundreds—possibly thousands—of oranges onto the pitch.

Match officials were shocked by the scene at Tannadice Park. Television footage showed waves of oranges being thrown onto the field, creating surreal visuals.

The referee blew the whistle after a few seconds and instructed players to stop the game. After about three minutes, when the oranges brought into the stadium by fans had been cleared, the referee ordered the match to resume.

Celtic fans are not protesting against their team’s performance, as Celtic appears set to celebrate their league title weeks before the season ends. Their protest is against high ticket prices. These fans claim they paid £42 to watch today’s crucial match against Dundee and believe the club is exploiting the significance of the game.
