Crisis in Serie A: More Matches Likely to Be Postponed

According to reports from multiple sources in Italy, three matches from the 34th round of Serie A—Como vs. Genoa, Inter vs. Roma, and Lazio vs. Parma—scheduled for Saturday, may be postponed to another date.

The postponement of Lazio vs. Parma is highly likely, as the match is set to take place at 20:45 local time in Rome, just hours before the funeral of Pope Francis in the same city. Reports from Italian media suggest that Serie A officials are expected to confirm soon that this match will be rescheduled to Monday, April 28, at 20:45.

Four other Serie A matches originally scheduled for Monday have already been postponed due to the Pope’s death. As a result, Parma vs. Juventus, Lazio vs. Genoa, Cagliari vs. Fiorentina, and Torino vs. Udinese will now take place on Wednesday, April 23.

    Serie A Match Postponement

It remains unclear whether the Inter vs. Roma and Como vs. Genoa matches, scheduled for next Saturday, will also be postponed by Serie A officials. However, an announcement will be made to the clubs soon.
