According to reports, the 225 km cycling race in Mallorca concluded with two unusual incidents: the participation of Eden Hazard and the tragic death of one of the competitors before reaching the finish line.

The race featured two main routes of 313 km and 225 km, with Hazard successfully completing the shorter 225 km route. The former Real Madrid star later told reporters, “It was very tough, and my legs are really hurting. But overall, it was a great experience. Honestly, I should probably lose some weight. The first kilometers were fine, but the last 25 km were really hard.”

Hazard opted not to take the longer 312 km route, choosing instead the shorter 225 km path.

Few could have imagined that Hazard, after completing his high-profile transfer to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019, would retire from football just four years later and take up cycling in 2025.

Tragic Death of a Participant in Hazard’s Race

This amateur road race, which marked Hazard’s first cycling event, was overshadowed by the death of a 40-year-old participant who reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest after falling off his bike during the race.
