I love the fans, everything I have is because of them
Diaz: I’ve been a Liverpool fan since childhood and want to stay
Luis Diaz sent a message to Liverpool in an interview with a South American TV network, saying he wants to continue wearing the club’s jersey.
At the start of the current season, all eyes at Liverpool were on three players and their contracts: Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Now that Salah and Van Dijk have renewed, and Trent seems set to join Real Madrid, few are talking about another key star: Luis Diaz.
Amid recent reports of Liverpool’s dissatisfaction with Diaz and the potential departure of the Colombian star, Luis Diaz today tried to win over the fans in an interview with TNT Mexico, urging them to prevent his exit.
Diaz described himself as a passionate Liverpool fan, saying playing for the club was the best thing that ever happened to him and he wants to continue experiencing this feeling for years to come.
The Colombian star of Liverpool said: “Playing in front of Liverpool fans is an honor for me. Liverpool is one of the biggest clubs in England and the world. When the incredible fans of such a big club support me like this, I have a duty to repay them. What I want is to have such conditions for the rest of my career. I want to play here and leave my name at Liverpool. We will keep fighting. We fight for the fans to make them happy. I have many childhood memories. I don’t think I’ve ever said it before, but I’ve been a Liverpool fan since I was a kid, and my dream was to one day win trophies with Liverpool, especially the Premier League. We are very close now, and that makes me happy. I thank God for allowing me to be here today and fight for the Premier League with Liverpool. This was my dream for many years.”
