According to reports, during another session of the trial of doctors and nurses accused of homicide in Maradona’s death case, his eldest daughter described the extremely poor living conditions while discussing her father’s home.

Dalma Maradona testified in Buenos Aires: “It was a disaster, it smelled of urine, and the bed was horrible. There was a portable toilet, panels blocking the windows to prevent light from entering, and the door was sliding. The room was terrible.”

Dalma emphasized that the house did not meet the conditions promised by clinical specialists when home care was chosen. She continued: “There was no bathroom nearby, and the kitchen was a mess. I can’t say anyone was responsible for cleaning it. We were told everything was fine and under control, but we weren’t allowed inside the house, so we couldn’t verify if that was true or not.”

Maradona’s family claims they had little influence over the medical team’s decisions regarding treatment after his brain hematoma surgery. Dalma expressed regret for trusting the neurosurgeon, whom she accuses of failing to fulfill the promise of home care.

Dalma, as previously stated in court, confirmed that on the day of her father’s death, when she saw him, his body was covered with a sheet, and “his face, hands, stomach, and body were very swollen.” Seven healthcare professionals are on trial for alleged negligence in Diego Maradona’s death on November 25, 2020.
