Bologna secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Empoli in the Coppa Italia semifinals, ending their 52-year wait for a final appearance. The match saw Giovanni Fabbian open the scoring in the 7th minute, but Empoli equalized through Viktor Kovalenko in the 33rd minute.
Empoli dominated the second half but failed to capitalize on their chances. In the 86th minute, Tijs Dalinga scored the decisive goal for Bologna, sealing their place in the final against AC Milan, who had earlier defeated Inter Milan 3-0.
This marks Bologna’s first Coppa Italia final since 1971. They will face a tough challenge against AC Milan, led by Sergio Conceicao, in the final on May 14 at the Stadio Olimpico.
