Nunez Placed on Exit List
End of Darwin Nunez’s Story at Liverpool: ‘We’re Tired, Go!’
Liverpool has finally grown tired of Darwin Nunez’s consistent failures and informed him that he will be placed on the transfer list this summer.
According to reports, Liverpool Echo, a newspaper close to the club, revealed that Liverpool’s management has decided to sell Darwin Nunez this summer.
Nunez’s inclusion on the transfer list three years after his €85 million move from Benfica indicates he has been one of Liverpool’s biggest transfer mistakes in recent years.
Given Nunez’s poor stats, it is unlikely any European club will pay a significant fee for him. Liverpool’s only hope lies with Al-Nassr, who expressed interest in January but were rejected. Now, the club hopes Al-Nassr will return with a new offer to recover at least a portion of the €85 million spent.
Nunez has lost his place in Arne Slot’s starting lineup, with Diogo Jota preferred over him. If he insists on staying, he risks becoming a permanent benchwarmer.
Nunez is having his worst season since joining Liverpool. The Uruguayan striker, who scored 15 and 18 goals in his first two seasons, has only managed 7 goals this campaign.
