Everton supporters gave Kevin De Bruyne a standing ovation during their match against Manchester City, thanking him for his years of brilliance in the Premier League.
Kevin De Bruyne will no longer play in the Premier League starting next season. The Belgian star, after 10 years with Manchester City, announced he will leave this summer.
Today’s match between Everton and Manchester City marked De Bruyne’s final appearance at Goodison Park. Pep Guardiola started him, and every time De Bruyne went to take a corner, Everton fans cheered for him.
When De Bruyne was substituted in the 88th minute, the entire stadium applauded him in unison, honoring his decade of excellence in the English Premier League.
Pep Guardiola praised Everton fans after the match, saying all English fans love De Bruyne, and wherever City plays, the Belgian star receives applause.
De Bruyne joined Manchester City from Wolfsburg in the summer of 2016 and became one of the club’s biggest stars. The creative midfielder has played 283 Premier League matches for City, scoring 71 goals and providing 121 assists. In the Champions League, he has made 79 appearances, scoring 13 goals and assisting 19.
