Fabio Capello:
Arsenal is the Best Team in England and Will Eliminate PSG
Fabio Capello, former Real Madrid manager, says Arsenal can eliminate Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals.
Fabio Capello, who attended the Laureus Awards ceremony in Madrid, commented on the crucial UEFA Champions League semi-final clash between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal, firmly stating his belief in the London club’s advancement.
Capello praised Arteta’s team, saying: “I have never seen an English team play this well. Of course, Manchester City is on another level, but if we’re talking about classic English football—not Guardiola’s unique style—Arsenal has been truly brilliant. They are a team with high technical quality and exceptional physical strength.”
The experienced manager, who has coached clubs like AC Milan, Real Madrid, and Juventus, spoke about Arsenal’s cohesive style after eliminating Real Madrid in the previous round: “Both Arsenal and PSG have great team spirit. But Arsenal has a unique collective identity. The players work together, fight together, and their tempo is very high. This will undoubtedly be an exciting and spectacular match.”
Capello also praised Luis Enrique’s PSG: “PSG’s quality is outstanding. They have spent heavily on players who may not seem like stars at first glance but possess tremendous ability. This is a fundamental change in their structure. Now they are a real team—one that doesn’t wait for individual brilliance but plays, runs, and fights together. In my opinion, alongside Inter Milan, PSG has one of the best midfields in this competition.”
Despite his praise, Capello believes Arsenal has the edge: “Arsenal has all the necessary factors for success—technical quality, perfect balance, and physical readiness, just like PSG. In that sense, both teams are equal. But I think Arsenal has a slight advantage at this moment. If I had to predict, I’d confidently say Arsenal is the better team and has a higher chance of advancing.”
