Ferdinand: My Ideal Final is PSG vs Barcelona
Rio Ferdinand believes Paris Saint-Germain will win the Champions League.
According to reports, Arsenal recently secured an important position in Europe by eliminating Real Madrid from the Champions League with a 1-2 victory at Santiago Bernabéu. The Gunners will now face Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals, the French champions who, despite a 2-3 loss at Villa Park, eliminated Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
In the other Champions League semi-final, Barcelona secured their place in the final four this week despite a 1-3 home loss to Borussia Dortmund. They will face Inter Milan, who eliminated Bayern Munich with a 2-2 draw at San Siro.
Paris Saint-Germain lost 0-2 to Arsenal in the group stage of this season’s Champions League and also suffered defeats against Atlético Madrid and Bayern Munich. However, after eliminating Brest, Liverpool, and Aston Villa in the knockout stages, Ferdinand believes PSG are now the favorites to win the Champions League and says they will defeat Inter in the final on May 31.
Ferdinand said on his YouTube channel: “I predict the final will be between Paris Saint-Germain and Inter, that’s what I think will happen. And I think PSG will narrowly defeat Arsenal. I would love to see a final between Barcelona and PSG. That’s my ideal final; where two incredible attacking lines are on the field, free to attack in an organized and machine-like manner.
I think Inter will reach the final, but my ideal is PSG vs Barcelona, just because you see two attacking lines on the field who are allowed and eager to attack the opponent’s players and provide an entertaining game.
In terms of entertainment, PSG vs Barcelona is the best, but part of me would love to see Arsenal there too. Honestly, it wouldn’t be bad at all if Arsenal won. I love their players. I adore Saka, I like Declan Rice, Ødegaard, Timber, Luis-Enrique, Saliba, Gabriel… these are players I love.”
