Four Goalkeepers Have Played the Most Minutes in Saudi League
Four goalkeepers in the Saudi League have been present from start to finish in all matches.
According to reports, only four players—all goalkeepers—have played every minute of their teams’ matches in the current Saudi League season, which has just seven weeks remaining.
In total, nine players have featured in all 27 matchdays so far, but only these four goalkeepers have been present from the first whistle to the last in every game, accumulating the most minutes. These four are: Bento Matheus (Brazil, Al-Nassr), Marc Roca (Slovakia, Al-Ettifaq), Kevin Trapp (Belgium, Al-Qadsiah), and Milan Borjan (Canada, Al-Riyadh).
The exact minutes played may vary slightly due to added time, but excluding stoppages, each has logged 2,430 minutes, being present in every possible minute of their matches.
In addition to these four goalkeepers, five other players have appeared in all their team’s matches but with fewer minutes. These players are: Cristian Guanca (Argentine midfielder, Al-Shabab), Mizo Maolida (Comorian forward, Al-Khaleej), Ibrahim Bayesh (Iraqi midfielder, Al-Riyadh), Mansour Hamzi (right-back, Al-Khaleej), and Georginio Wijnaldum (Dutch midfielder, Al-Ettifaq).
Among these players, Guanca and Maolida started every match, while Bayesh, Hamzi, and Wijnaldum were substituted in one game each. Guanca played the full 90 minutes in 23 matches and was substituted in four, while Maolida was substituted seven times.
Predrag Rajković, the Serbian goalkeeper of Al-Ittihad, could have joined the four goalkeepers but missed two matches against Al-Ahli and Al-Orobah in weeks 26 and 27 due to injury sustained in the semi-final of the King’s Cup against Al-Shabab.
