He is a treasure for world football
If I Were Milan’s Director, I Would Definitely Call Ancelotti
Arrigo Sacchi, in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, discussed Carlo Ancelotti’s future.
After Real Madrid’s recent failure in the Champions League and falling behind Barcelona in La Liga, it seems Carlo Ancelotti is nearing the end of his second spell at Real. In Italy, many believe now is the perfect time for his return to Serie A.
Arrigo Sacchi, the legendary Italian football coach who once managed Ancelotti, said: “I don’t know what Carlo will decide. I think the Brazilian Football Confederation has been after him for a while, and the opportunity to lead Seleção in the World Cup is tempting. However, if I were the director of AC Milan or Roma, I would definitely call Carlo; it wouldn’t cost anything.”
The former Milan coach during their golden era in the late 80s and early 90s under Silvio Berlusconi shared his thoughts on Ancelotti’s possible return to Milan: “Ancelotti is a treasure for world football. Do you think he would struggle to adapt to an environment like Milan, which he knows well? He is ideal for managing a critical phase, to show players what it means to play for a club like Milan.”
Sacchi concluded: “Football is like an open book for Carlo, and there are no secrets—or if there are, he knows them all. Yes, Milan should call Ancelotti. It would be a glorious return that could help the Rossoneri at this stage.”
