If Real Madrid Loses, Brazilians Will Celebrate!

Brazilian media reports new developments in negotiations between the Brazilian Football Confederation and one of the candidates to lead the Seleção—Jorge Jesus. While Jorge Jesus remains a top candidate, the federation has not yet given up on Carlo Ancelotti.

According to reports, discussions between the Brazilian federation and Jesus have entered a new phase in recent days. Previously, when negotiations began, Jesus expressed agreement with their proposal but requested time until after the Club World Cup. Brazil rejected this condition, stating they could not wait that long. Today, sources indicate Jesus has softened his stance but insists on waiting until the end of the AFC Champions League.

Bruno Alves, a renowned Brazilian football journalist, stated on TV: “Jesus really wants to coach the Seleção, but his biggest obstacle is his dream of winning the AFC Champions League with Al-Hilal this year.”

He further claimed: “Jesus is currently the top candidate, but this could change suddenly tomorrow night. If Real Madrid fails to stage a comeback and loses to Arsenal in the Champions League, Ancelotti’s time at Real will be over. From my discussions with Brazilian federation officials, I gathered that they believe Ancelotti could become available if Real is eliminated. If Real exits the Champions League, Ancelotti’s departure in the summer is certain. In that case, the Brazilian federation will wait to sign Jesus. Real’s elimination revives Ancelotti as an option for Brazil.”
