João Cancelo, the Big Absence for Al Hilal in the Club World Cup!
João Cancelo, Al Hilal’s right-back, has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to a hamstring injury.
According to reports, the only concerning incident for Jorge Jesus and Al Hilal fans after their 7-0 victory over Guangzhou in the AFC Champions League quarter-finals was the recurrence of João Cancelo’s injury, which forced him off in the first half.
The injury was later confirmed by Al Hilal in an official statement, describing it as severe and stating that the Portuguese defender would be unable to participate for the remainder of the season.
Al Hilal’s statement read: “Medical examinations revealed that Cancelo has suffered a different type of injury compared to previous instances—a hamstring strain.
He will undergo a rehabilitation program lasting four to six weeks, meaning he will miss the final weeks of the season.”
This has raised serious concerns among Al Hilal fans regarding Cancelo’s availability for the upcoming Club World Cup. The tournament, hosted in the USA from June 14 to July 13, will see Al Hilal face Real Madrid, Pachuca, and Red Bull Salzburg in Group 2.
