According to reports, Jorge Jesus, the Portuguese head coach of Al-Hilal, emphasized that his team still believes in their chances of winning the Saudi Professional League despite a 2-2 draw against Al-Shabab in the 29th round. He also stated that the AFC Champions League remains a major goal for his team.

Jesus said in the post-match press conference: “We faced a strong team with quality players. Our goal was to win, but we couldn’t achieve it.”

He explained: “We played at a high level, and some players like Mitrović and Savić are improving. We faced a team with outstanding players like Hamdallah, Carrasco, and Poyet.”

Regarding the league title race, Jesus said: “Al-Hilal is still in the title race, and we fully believe in our ability to win the league. Our performance today was strong, but we didn’t get the desired result.”

On the AFC Champions League, the Al-Hilal coach emphasized: “Big clubs like Al-Hilal fight to win all trophies. Last year, we fought for everything and won almost all titles except the AFC Champions League. This year, we are competing in both (league and Asia) and striving for victory.”

He added: “Winning the Asian Champions League is a personal dream for me because I haven’t achieved it with Al-Hilal yet. This title is also the dream of the fans and the club president, and we will continue to fight for every match.”

Jesus compared this season to last season’s success: “Al-Hilal has paid a heavy price for its successes and competing in all tournaments. What happened last season won’t be repeated for years.”

He continued: “Comparing this season to last season is very difficult. However, we must not forget that we are still in the race for the league and Asian titles and have a chance.”

Jesus concluded: “We have won one trophy, lost one, and now have the opportunity to win two more.”

Al-Hilal is currently second in the Saudi Professional League with 62 points from 29 matches, while Al-Ittihad leads with 65 points from 28 games.
