Joshua Kimmich’s Request to Bayern: Buy Me a Player!
Joshua Kimmich wants a teammate at the level of Thiago Alcantara beside him, but it is unlikely that Bayern Munich’s management will prioritize this request.
According to reports, it is no secret that Kimmich prefers to play in Bayern Munich’s midfield. He feels that when he plays as a right-back, he is not involved enough in the game and seeks greater responsibility and influence on the match.
Sport1 claims that the German star has repeatedly mentioned internally that he believes his best performances come when paired with a playmaker like Thiago, rather than a box-to-box midfielder like Leon Goretzka.
Kimmich still speaks highly of Thiago, his former teammate at Allianz Arena. Although they rarely formed a midfield duo, Kimmich believes having a partner of Thiago’s caliber in Bayern’s midfield would be ideal—a role currently only fulfilled by Aleksandar Pavlović in the squad.
João Palhinha is a player with a completely different style. New signing Toms Bischof also does not resemble Thiago. The question now is whether Bayern’s management can or even wants to fulfill Kimmich’s request—a demand that will likely remain just that.
