Impact of the New Coach
Juventus Stars Happy: Team’s Energy Has Changed
Manuel Locatelli, Juventus star, believes the presence of Igor Tudor on the bench has had a positive impact on the team.
Juventus continued their positive run under Tudor as the new coach, securing a 2-1 victory over Lecce in last night’s match. Dušan Vlahović failed to score but assisted both goals in the first half, while Juventus displayed some good team movements.
They faltered in the closing minutes and came under pressure after conceding a goal from a set-piece, which made the score 2-1, but they managed to protect their lead with difficulty.
Kenan Yıldız told Sky Sport Italy: “I am happy with this win. It got tough in the final minutes when they applied pressure, but we’re happy. Qualifying for the Champions League is very important; it’s a necessity, so we must keep working and perform at our best as always.”
This win temporarily moved Juventus to third place in the table, but Atalanta’s match against Bologna tomorrow means Juventus will certainly be fourth by the end of the week.
Manuel Locatelli also told Sky Sport Italy: “The team’s energy has changed. We enter matches with a lot of positive energy, and that’s what we all feel. We must keep this up. We could have finished the game earlier, but we conceded an avoidable goal. Still, we’re on the right path.
I saw this more as a physical issue than anything else because we lost focus in the final minutes and made avoidable mistakes. Nevertheless, we took home three extremely important points.”
Juventus returned to the top four after a long time and now eye a Champions League spot. The player added: “This is our goal. We must give our all to achieve it and win all our remaining matches.”
