Kenan Yıldız Apologizes to Juventus Fans: ‘I’m Really Sorry’
Kenan Yıldız, Juventus forward, apologized to fans and teammates after a violent foul in the match against Monza.
Kenan Yıldız apologized after his violent action in the match against Monza, which led to his red card. He wrote on Instagram: “I deeply regret what happened last night on the pitch. This is not who I am.”
Yıldız, in the 34th round of Serie A at the Allianz Stadium, instead of shining with a goal or assist, showed a negative image by elbowing Monza midfielder Alessandro Bianco. This violent action at the end of the first half, after VAR review by referee Daniele Perenzoni, resulted in his direct red card.
Less than 24 hours after the match, Yıldız apologized in an Instagram story: “I am really sorry for what happened last night. I did not intend to hurt my opponent and I apologize to him. This action went beyond my true intention and does not reflect my nature and style of play in football. I apologize again to my teammates, coach, staff, club, and fans, and I thank them for their support even in this situation.” With this message, he took responsibility for his actions and consoled Bianco, his teammates, and the fans.
This action could have serious consequences for Yıldız. Depending on the referee’s report, the young player could face a two-match suspension, which would rule him out of crucial matches against Bologna and Lazio.
These matches are vital for Juventus in their quest for a Champions League spot. Manager Igor Tudor will now have to plan for these key matches without the 19-year-old talent.
