Kessie: Al-Hilal’s Familiarity with Us is a Negative Point
Al-Ahli’s Ivorian star says they will give their all to advance to the final.
According to reports, Frank Kessie, the Ivorian player of Al-Ahli, emphasized before the AFC Champions League semifinal match that they have full knowledge of their opponent, Al-Hilal. The match will take place tonight.
He said in the pre-match press conference: “We know Al-Hilal very well and will give our best effort. Undoubtedly, it will be a tough match. The team’s coach has also provided us with many tips and insights, and we will have another session before the match begins.”
Kessie added: “Playing against an opponent that we know and who knows us is both a positive and a negative point because there is mutual information. However, today we will use all our strength to win and advance to the final.”
He also explained that since joining Al-Ahli last season, he has maintained the same level of effort and quality.
Kessie added: “For me, nothing has changed; I am the same Kessie from last season. When I joined Al-Ahli, I didn’t make it to the pre-season camp, but this season our team has become more united.”
When asked which team he would prefer to face in the final if they advance past Al-Hilal, he said: “We are not thinking about the final right now. Our full focus is on the match against Al-Hilal and the semifinal stage.”
