Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s Confidence: We Are Better Than Arsenal!
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the star of Paris Saint-Germain, says his team has a clear advantage over Arsenal.
Tomorrow night, in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, Paris Saint-Germain will face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. The previous encounter between these two teams in the group stage of this season ended in a 2-0 victory for Arsenal. However, Kvaratskhelia, who joined PSG in January, believes his team now holds the upper hand over the London club.
Kvaratskhelia, in an interview with PSG’s official website, said: “Joining a team mid-season during the winter transfer window is always challenging for a player or coach. However, thanks to the club’s management, the coaching staff, and my teammates who welcomed me warmly, I adapted well.”
“The support from the fans also gave me a lot of confidence. I felt like a big star joining a big club, and this motivates me to give my all on the field to make them happy.”
“Everything is going well. I play for a big club, live in Paris—one of the most beautiful cities in the world—and my family is happy here. All these factors helped me adapt quickly to the new conditions.”
The Georgian star also spoke about his coach, Luis Enrique: “The role of a coach is incredibly important in a player’s career. Luis Enrique’s most important quality is that he is an extraordinary person—direct, honest, and respectful. He always encourages players to give their best for the club and its fans. I am very happy working with him.”
Kvaratskhelia, former Napoli star, added: “I am very happy to have won Ligue 1 with Paris Saint-Germain, but we still have the chance to win two more trophies: the Coupe de France and the UEFA Champions League.”
“In my opinion, the UEFA Champions League is the biggest football tournament. It is every footballer’s dream, and everyone wants to win it. But it is a very tough competition. Even reaching the semi-finals is a difficult task for any team. This is the tournament of champions, and any team can win it.”
“I hope to score more goals in the Champions League—decisive and beautiful goals like the one I scored against Aston Villa. Facing another English team like Arsenal, after Liverpool and Aston Villa, might be an advantage for us because we have learned how to deal with English teams. I believe we are better and ahead of them.”
