Jürgen Klinsmann believes that Bayern Munich, despite their first-leg defeat against Inter, still has a chance to advance to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

He said about the prestigious German club: “They can turn the result around. I am sure it is entirely possible.”

These remarks were made on Bayern 1 Radio’s “Today in the Stadium” program. Bayern must overturn a 2-1 deficit in the second leg of the quarter-finals on Wednesday.

Klinsmann called this clash between two teams he once played for an early final. He considered Inter slightly more favored and added: “It won’t be easy for Bayern because the Italians have a very good defense. They play with strong and compact defensive organization and don’t take big risks.”

In the first leg, Bayern legend Thomas Müller managed to equalize the game temporarily. Klinsmann said about the 35-year-old player, who will leave Bayern in the summer: “He still has the ability to change the course of the game.“

Klinsmann, who now lives in the U.S., wished Müller from afar to “continue playing for a few more years and enjoy it.“

He even made a suggestion for Müller’s future: “We Americans would love for him to take a look at MLS,” a proposal he described as an adventure for Bayern’s record appearance holder.

Klinsmann gave Müller his Bundesliga debut in 2008 when he was coaching Bayern. He was recently the head coach of the South Korean national team.
