    Kylian Mbappe Escapes Severe Suspension

    Possibly Two, Maybe Three Sessions

    Mbappe Escapes Severe Suspension

César Soto Grado, the referee of yesterday’s match between Real Madrid and Alavés, wrote a report that will greatly benefit Real Madrid and Mbappe.

    Kylian Mbappe Escapes Severe Suspension

According to reports, Kylian Mbappe, the star of Real Madrid, was unexpectedly sent off in the match against Alavés after a harsh tackle on Antonio Blanco. The tackle, which occurred in the 36th minute, shocked fans and players alike due to its intensity and danger.

Mbappe, who is rarely involved in controversies or red cards, made a reckless challenge on Blanco’s leg. Although Blanco escaped serious injury, the tackle could have resulted in a fracture. The referee initially showed a yellow card but changed it to a direct red after VAR review by Gil Manzano. Mbappe left the pitch without protest.

    Referee’s Report

The official referee report described the incident as “a tackle with excessive intensity in the contest for the ball” rather than an “intentional foul without the ball.” This is a key distinction, as per Article 130 of the disciplinary code, such offenses typically result in a suspension of one to three matches. Since no injury occurred, a longer suspension is unlikely.

Precedents suggest Mbappe will likely face a two-match suspension, not three, meaning he will not miss the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona in Seville. A one-match suspension is also possible, but a three-match ban is improbable.

This incident is highly unusual for Mbappe, who has received only four yellow cards in 49 matches this season and has been sent off just three times in his entire career. In the absence of Carlo Ancelotti (suspended due to five yellow cards), Davide Ancelotti took charge of the team and reshuffled the formation to 4-4-1 after Mbappe’s dismissal.

If the two-match suspension is confirmed, Mbappe will miss La Liga matches against Athletic Bilbao and Getafe. His next appearance could be in the Champions League as Real Madrid attempt a comeback against Arsenal, followed by the Copa del Rey final.

This incident has sparked debates about Mbappe’s uncharacteristic behavior, but given the referee’s report and disciplinary precedents, his participation in the final is almost certain. Real Madrid will now have to play several crucial matches without their star, but his return for the final could be decisive.
