According to reports, despite Real Madrid’s underwhelming season, Kylian Mbappe, in his first year under Carlo Ancelotti, managed to break Cristiano Ronaldo’s debut-season goal record at Madrid and delivered a commendable performance.

Mbappe, who is playing outside France for the first time this season, is now among the finalists for the Best French Legionnaire Award alongside Jules Kounde, Mike Maignan, Michel Olise, and William Saliba.

This award, presented by the French Football Federation (UNFP), was won by Antoine Griezmann last season. However, the Atletico Madrid veteran did not even make the final five nominees this time.

In his debut season with Real Madrid, Mbappe scored seven goals and provided one assist in the UEFA Champions League, one goal in the Super Cup, and registered 22 goals and three assists in La Liga.

However, he faces tough competition from Michel Olise, who had an outstanding season with Bayern Munich, and Jules Kounde, his rival at Barcelona. The winner will be announced immediately after the end of the current season.
