Kylian Mbappe’s Sudden Anger Leads to Fourth Red Card (Photos)
Kylian Mbappe was sent off against Alaves for the fourth time in his professional career.
According to reports, Real Madrid overcame Alaves 1-0 in the 32nd week of La Liga, reducing the gap with Barcelona at the top of the table to four points under Carlo Ancelotti’s management.
The key and controversial moment of the match was Mbappe’s dismissal in the 38th minute due to a reckless foul, forcing Ancelotti’s men to play the remaining 50 minutes with a man down before securing a hard-fought victory.
The French forward experienced the bitter taste of receiving a red card and being sent off for the fourth time in his career, with his last red card dating back six years.
In fact, out of 530 official matches played for club teams and the French national team, Mbappe has only received a red card four times.
His last dismissal before today’s match was in 2019 when Mbappe, after being fouled by an Olympiacos player, struck and pushed him, leading to an immediate red card.
His first and second red cards also came in 2018, both coincidentally against Rennes. First, in the Coupe de la Ligue semi-final, he was sent off for kicking an opponent from behind, and then in the Coupe de France final, he received a red card in the 118th minute for a harsh tackle and a strong hit on an opponent’s knee, marking his second dismissal against Rennes.
