We are satisfied with the team, especially with Hansi Flick
Laporta: Forget about Real Madrid’s elimination, let’s enjoy Barcelona!
Barcelona’s president refused to comment on Real Madrid’s match against Arsenal tonight and said he prefers to enjoy Barcelona’s qualification to the Champions League semi-finals.
According to reports, Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, expressed his happiness today about his team’s qualification to the Champions League semi-finals.
Journalists tried to provoke Laporta into making controversial statements against Real Madrid by mentioning their potential elimination. Real Madrid faces a tough challenge tonight at the Bernabeu, needing to overturn a 3-0 first-leg deficit against Arsenal.
Barcelona’s president began his remarks by discussing the team’s qualification: “I am very happy with our qualification. After six years, we have reached the semi-finals. This is very sweet news for Barcelona. Now we will see whether Bayern or Inter will be our opponent.”
After persistent questions about Real Madrid’s match, Laporta said: “Forget about Real Madrid’s potential elimination. Let me enjoy the semi-finals.”
When asked if he would at least watch Real Madrid’s game, Laporta replied: “I always watch football, especially today since our qualification is confirmed, and we are closer to our season’s goals. Anything is possible. We are very satisfied with Barcelona’s players’ performance and commitment, as well as Hans-Dieter Flick’s masterful coaching. I truly enjoy watching Barcelona’s matches.”
Regarding Barcelona’s physical decline in last night’s match against Dortmund, Laporta said: “Our team is strong. They worked well, and we are satisfied with their performance. Physically, we are much better this year compared to last season.”
