Lewandowski: We created trouble for ourselves
Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona’s striker, believes the team gave itself stress and anxiety in the match against Borussia Dortmund!
According to reports, Barcelona, who had won the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals 4-0 at home against Borussia Dortmund, lost the return leg 3-1 at Signal Iduna Park. This defeat came on a night when Hansi Flick’s team delivered a weak and error-prone performance, far from their recent good form. However, the heavy victory in the first leg ensured Barcelona advanced to the semi-finals on aggregate. Robert Lewandowski, who was one of Barcelona’s weakest players against his former team, spoke about the match after the game.
A different game compared to last week?
It was a crazy game. If we look at both matches, we deserved to advance to the semi-finals, but we simply created anxiety and stress for ourselves.
Dortmund’s performance?
We made it very easy for Dortmund to create chances and score. Maybe this was the shock we needed. We must learn from this experience. If we were going to lose and make mistakes, it was better for it to happen at this stage. There is no room for such mistakes in later stages.
Chances of winning the treble?
It’s an attractive possibility, but it’s better to take it game by game. Tonight we saw that anything can happen, so we must be careful.
