Liam Signs His First Professional Contract
Like Father, Like Son: The Next Generation of Van Nistelrooy at PSV
The son of Ruud van Nistelrooy, who is also a goal-scoring specialist, has signed his first professional contract with PSV Eindhoven.
According to reports, PSV Eindhoven announced that they have signed a contract with Liam van Nistelrooy. If the name sounds familiar, the reason is obvious. The club has signed a three-year professional contract with the 17-year-old son of Ruud van Nistelrooy.
In fact, this deal is an extension, as Liam has been with PSV since 2017, starting with the under-10 team. The young forward now plays for PSV’s under-17 team and has scored 20 goals in 30 matches this season.
Ruud van Nistelrooy played for PSV between 1998 and 2001 before joining Manchester United. He later returned to the club, coaching in the youth ranks and then the first team from 2014 to 2023. In 2023, he moved to Manchester United as an assistant before Ruben Amorim’s arrival and is now the head coach of Leicester City. However, he proudly attended his son’s contract signing ceremony.
