End of Lucas Vazquez’s 10-Year Journey with Real Madrid
Lucas to Say Goodbye Just Like Nacho Did!
Lucas Vazquez is on the verge of leaving Real Madrid, and it appears that this summer, after 10 years, he will bid farewell to the club.
According to reports, after many ups and downs, Lucas Vazquez’s time at Real Madrid has finally come to an end. Spanish media claim that Real Madrid’s management has informed the Spanish defender that he will face a similar fate to Nacho Fernandez last summer and must prepare for departure.
This marks the end of Lucas Vazquez’s 10-year career at Real Madrid—a player who was sometimes adored by fans and at other times criticized for his performances.
Of course, Vazquez’s 10 years at Real Madrid only refer to his time with the first team, as he was actually a product of the club’s academy. The 33-year-old defender joined Real Madrid’s academy at the age of 16 and quickly progressed through the ranks. After stints with Espanyol on loan and Real Madrid Castilla, he returned to the first team in 2015 and signed a professional contract.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed the reports from Spanish media, stating that Lucas Vazquez is one of the players whose departure from Real Madrid is certain. Real Madrid has postponed contract renewals and summer transfers until the new manager is appointed, with one exception: the club has already reached a full agreement with Trent Alexander-Arnold, who will join Real Madrid this summer regardless of who the new manager is.
With Trent Alexander-Arnold’s arrival secured, Real Madrid sees no issue in parting ways with the 33-year-old defender, who plays the same position as Trent. A situation similar to Nacho Fernandez’s departure last summer will repeat itself this year for Lucas Vazquez.
