This Forward Won’t Return to Old Trafford
Manchester United’s Plan for Rashford: Swap Deal with Aston Villa Star!
Manchester United hopes to swap Marcus Rashford for Ollie Watkins.
According to reports, Rashford has regained his ideal form after his loan move from Manchester United to Aston Villa in the January transfer window.
The 27-year-old striker endured an 18-month nightmare at Manchester United before the winter transfer but has recently secured a starting spot with impressive performances. Wayne Rooney, a Manchester United legend, urged Rashford to continue his legacy at Old Trafford after his standout display in Villa’s defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals.
However, the English forward has no desire to return to his childhood club, especially amid repeated criticism from Rúben Amorim about his attitude and behavior. Reports suggest he has told close friends he wants to extend his stay at Villa Park beyond this season.
Now, the English newspaper Daily Star claims that Manchester United is ready to part ways with Rashford permanently and intends to use him to secure Watkins. The report states that Manchester United executives believe offering Rashford plus a significant fee could boost their chances of signing Watkins in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal has also shown strong interest in Watkins, submitting a £60 million bid for the Aston Villa striker in January, which was swiftly rejected by their Premier League rivals. Watkins, who has lost his starting spot to Rashford at Villa, admitted his frustration with Unai Emery after his team’s 4-1 victory over Newcastle.
