We Must Deliver Our Best Performance
Noussairi: No Excuses for Al Hilal
Al Hilal’s Portuguese star stated they have full knowledge of their South Korean opponents.
Ruben Neves, the Portuguese midfielder of Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal, dismissed any excuses for poor performance and emphasized delivering their best in the AFC Champions League quarter-finals.
Al Hilal will face South Korea’s Guangzhou FC in Jeddah’s Al-Namouthajiya Stadium.
Neves said in the pre-match press conference: “There are no excuses for Al Hilal. This stage of the competition leaves no room for mistakes.”
He added: “We’re facing a tough team, but we know them well. While it’s our first time playing an East Asian team in this tournament, modern technology leaves nothing unknown. We’re aware of every detail about our opponent.”
The former Wolverhampton midfielder continued: “Guangzhou has quality players including the tournament’s top scorer, but that doesn’t scare us.”
Regarding his injury comeback: “Naturally any player declines after injury, but what matters is quickly returning to previous form.”
On always seeking top performance: “Even when I get 8/10, I’m not satisfied because I always aim for 10/10.”
Neves concluded: “This tournament is an opportunity to make Al Hilal fans happy. We see the upcoming match as a crucial step toward the final.”
