One Day Before Real Madrid Match: Arteta Goes Wild in Training!
Images from Arsenal’s training session, one day before the second leg against Real Madrid, show Mikel Arteta, the Gunners’ manager, tackling his own players!
According to reports, the Spanish manager joined Arsenal’s final training session before the UEFA Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid and aggressively tackled Raheem Sterling, one of the team’s few fit forwards. Arteta, speeding up the session, lunged at Sterling with his right foot, coming dangerously close to a serious collision with the England star. The video quickly went viral on social media.
One Arsenal fan wrote: “24 hours before the biggest game of the season, our coach is tackling players? He’s crazy!”
Another fan commented: “Does he even realize tomorrow is the most important game of the season?”
After the risky tackle, something amusing happened: seconds later, Arteta himself was nutmegged! The players immediately reminded him that, according to training rules, he had to do push-ups for getting nutmegged! Arsenal, with a dominant 3-0 lead from the first leg, will head to Santiago Bernabéu with confidence. However, Arteta and his squad remain fully motivated and focused.
