According to reports, Park Tae-jun, the South Korean midfielder for Guangzhou FC, who will face Al-Hilal in the AFC Champions League quarter-finals, delayed his military enlistment due to the possibility of facing Al-Nassr and Cristiano Ronaldo in later stages of the competition.

As reported by Arab News citing Korean sources, Tae-jun was scheduled to enlist on April 7 but managed to postpone it until June to continue supporting his team in the AFC Champions League.

Park Tae-jun told Korean newspaper JoongAng: “I will use this opportunity as if I have been given an extra life. Al-Hilal’s value is twenty times higher than ours, but as a united team, we can stop them.

Now, we want to overcome Al-Hilal and face Al-Nassr in the final so I can exchange jerseys with Cristiano Ronaldo.”

Park Tae-jun is currently the fourth-best player in the K League and the second-best player for Guangzhou FC in the AFC Champions League.
