I Couldn’t Believe He Was This Good
Pep Guardiola Amazed by the Quality of Erling Haaland’s Rival: I’ve Fallen in Love with Him!
Guardiola says Omar Marmoush has been one of Manchester City’s best signings. Pep has full trust in the Egyptian striker.
According to reports, Pep Guardiola praised one of his new players in an interview with Manchester City’s website, saying he is so satisfied with Omar Marmoush that he couldn’t believe the Egyptian star could be such a complete and lethal striker.
Omar Marmoush scored a goal in Manchester City’s 5-2 victory over Crystal Palace this week, bringing his total goals for City to 7. Marmoush joined City in January and has proven to be a sharp striker with these stats.
Currently, with Haaland sidelined due to injury, Marmoush is Guardiola’s primary hope for goals as City fights hard to secure their position.
Guardiola told Manchester City’s website: “Marmoush’s goal-scoring stats are truly extraordinary. Omar joined us in the middle of the season when City was in crisis, and the situation wasn’t great. But you saw how he started scoring as if he had joined a fully fit and energetic team. I am very, very satisfied with him.”
Pep continued: “Marmoush smells goals. A team definitely needs such strikers. Honestly, I couldn’t believe he could start scoring immediately as if he had been playing here for years. This means he is a very mature and intelligent footballer who has adapted to the unique conditions of the Premier League in a short time. I’ve seen many in this team who either couldn’t adapt or needed a lot of time. Moreover, when you join a team at its peak, adapting is easier, but Marmoush joined a team in a tough situation and still managed to fit in effortlessly. I’m sure his stats will get even better. In the game against Palace, he could have easily scored three goals. There will be days when he scores multiple goals and even hat-tricks.”
