Perez's Message to Ancelotti: Hold Your Head High, Most Successful Coach

When Real Madrid lost to Arsenal at the Bernabeu and bid farewell to the Champions League, it was clear that a tough night awaited the club behind the scenes.

It was later revealed that Florentino Perez, the club’s president, held a private meeting with Carlo Ancelotti. Ancelotti confirmed the meeting in his first press conference, stating that Perez had reassured him.

With Ancelotti’s departure at the end of the season seeming inevitable and discussions about his successors heating up, the TV program El Chiringuito claimed to have obtained details of Perez and Ancelotti’s meeting after the Arsenal defeat.

El Chiringuito summarized Perez’s message to the Italian coach as follows: “Carlito, why worry? What are you worried about? You are the most successful coach in Real Madrid’s history. You’ve won 15 trophies with Real. You should be proud of your achievements and hold your head high.”

But does Perez’s support for Ancelotti come without conditions? El Chiringuito answered this question negatively.

According to the program, Perez told Ancelotti: “Don’t worry for now. We’ll sit down at the end of the season and discuss your future.”

Ancelotti has a history of serious discussions with club management about his future. He left Real once before and returned. Ancelotti first managed Real from 2013 to 2015 and returned in 2021 for his second stint. The 65-year-old Italian coach is currently under contract until 2026, and Real would need to terminate his contract a year early if they agree to part ways. With the Champions League lost and potential failures in La Liga and the Copa del Rey, Ancelotti’s departure seems increasingly certain.
