By Signing Real Madrid Women’s Captain
PSG Takes Revenge on Real Madrid!
Olga Carmona, the captain of Real Madrid Women, whose contract expires in the summer of 2025, will leave the club for Paris.
According to Marca, Paris Saint-Germain has made an irresistible offer to the player, including a multi-year contract with a significantly higher salary than her current earnings at Real Madrid. Carmona, who scored the winning goal in the 2023 Women’s World Cup final for Spain, reportedly prefers PSG’s ambitious project, which aims to dominate domestic competitions in France and compete in the UEFA Women’s Champions League against teams like Barcelona.
Negotiations for Carmona’s contract extension with Real Madrid have stalled for months, as she has received other attractive offers. Her departure will be a major blow to Real Madrid, where she has been a key player since the women’s team was founded in 2020. Carmona, along with Teresa Abelleira and Misa Rodríguez, is one of the few remaining players from the original squad. With 182 appearances, she holds the record for most games played for Real Madrid Women, one more than Misa. During this time, she has scored 28 goals and provided 25 assists. PSG needs Carmona to fill the left-back position.
It is worth noting that Real Madrid signed Kylian Mbappé, the captain of PSG’s men’s team, last summer, and now Real Madrid’s best women’s player is heading to Paris.
