Real Madrid Fans’ Shocking Vote: Vinicius Jr. Should Be Sold!
Football has a short memory, to the point where some Real Madrid fans have now turned their backs on last season’s top Ballon d’Or contender and FIFA award winner.
According to reports, Real Madrid’s elimination from the Champions League against Arsenal was like a foretold death. A team that dreamed of winning seven trophies at the start of the season, with poor planning and an identity crisis after winning their 15th Champions League, fell into the abyss of failure.
12 losses this season, lack of beautiful play, and a humiliating defeat against Arsenal showed that nothing can be gained from nothing. Fans who hoped for a historic comeback are now angrily looking at the management and their decisions. Marcá’s big poll after this failure revealed the decisive views of Real Madrid fans.
41% of the 150,000 voters (about 63,000 people) believe the club’s poor planning is the main culprit. Toni Kroos’ departure was a big blow, injuries weakened the team, and the failure to sign players in key positions exacerbated the problems.
20% praised Arsenal for their high quality, and another 20% criticized the poor performance of Real Madrid players. Arsenal’s clear superiority in both matches and Real’s lack of identity in play first drew attention to the bench. Carlo Ancelotti, with two European titles in his second spell, is now in a fragile position due to the lack of playing ideas. 69% (89,000 votes) believe his time at Real is over, although 53% want him to stay until the Club World Cup as a tribute to his brilliant record.
For next season, fans are demanding major changes.
Xabi Alonso, with 48% of the votes, is the top choice to replace Ancelotti, followed by Jürgen Klopp (28%), Raúl (10%), and Zidane (7%). 57% (63,000 votes) want all lines strengthened, but the priority is replacing Kroos. Martin Zubimendi, with 33% of the votes, is the ideal candidate to restore order to Real’s game.
In the departures section, fans were decisive. Jesús Vallejo with 12% and Lucas Vázquez with 11% top the sales list. Vallejo has been practically absent since preseason, and Vázquez bid farewell to the fans after the elimination against Arsenal. David Alaba (10%), Ancelotti and Mendy (9% each) are also on the list. Surprisingly, Vinicius Jr., with 63,000 votes, has been criticized. This Brazilian star, who was a Ballon d’Or candidate just a few months ago, has lost fan support due to poor performance, Saudi offers, and constant on-field conflicts. This shows the ruthlessness of football and the short memory of Real fans.
Despite continuing the season and the chance to win trophies, the Champions League defeat is an opportunity for evaluation. Thibaut Courtois, with a score of 7.16, has the best performance, and Vallejo, with 3.19, the worst. Among the players, 14 (including Courtois, Valverde, Bellingham, Rüdiger, Mbappé, and Rodrygo) passed, and 10, including the rest of the team and Ancelotti, failed. Fans are now waiting for major changes in the summer for Real to return to their glory days.
