The Strange Difference Between Real Madrid and Barcelona Analysts
Real Lost to Barça Here: Ignoring Analysis!
Two images from the Copa del Rey final highlight a bizarre difference between Real Madrid and Barcelona. Real’s neglect of technical analysis under Carlo Ancelotti contrasts sharply with Barcelona’s meticulous attention to detail under Hansi Flick.
According to reports, Carlo Ancelotti, who has faced heavy criticism lately, lost the Copa del Rey final to Real Madrid’s historic rival. However, football analysts unanimously agree that Real Madrid was not inferior to Barcelona in the Copa del Rey Clásico and lost due to footballing incidents.
Real now has only one chance left: winning La Liga. If Ancelotti fails against Barcelona in La Liga, his chances of staying next season will likely diminish. Last night, an image from La Cartuja Stadium, the venue for the final, once again sharpened criticism toward Ancelotti and Real Madrid.
These two photos, taken from the stadium stands, reveal a striking difference in technical preparations between Real Madrid and Barcelona. The analysts from both clubs are seated just below the press box for the best view of the match.
The stark contrast between these two images has sparked widespread reactions. In Barcelona’s photo, seven technical analysts are seen working with four computers and a camera to meticulously record and analyze the match. One of Barça’s analysts is Toni Tapalovic, a well-known assistant to Hansi Flick.
A few meters away, Real Madrid’s analysts are seated. What has upset Real fans is that only two analysts with two laptops are monitoring the final against Barcelona. Fans have reacted strongly, arguing that a team that undervalues detailed technical analysis is destined to lose.
However, reports remind fans that they should not blame Ancelotti for this. The Italian coach has long requested reinforcements for his technical analysis team but did not want to make it public to avoid tensions with club president Florentino Pérez.
Ancelotti has even complained about the lack of personnel on the bench, let alone analysts. Looking at Real’s bench, it is evident that Ancelotti only has his son Davide, assistant Francesco Mauri, and goalkeeping coach Luis Llopis. Despite his requests, he only has Simone Montanaro as the lead analyst and has to rely on the goalkeeping coach to assist in match analysis.
After Ancelotti’s requests, the club made an offer that he rejected. Ancelotti wanted analysts he fully trusted, but Real did not want to hand over the entire technical staff to him. Club executives believed it was better to hire analysts who could continue working for the club after Ancelotti. This disagreement ultimately led to Real Madrid not hiring any new analysts.
