Real Madrid’s Luck: Tchouaméni Plays with Fire!
During the Copa del Rey final, Aurélien Tchouaméni narrowly escaped a red card after a dangerous tackle on Dani Olmo!
Real Madrid had a disappointing first half in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona. The half began with Ferland Mendy’s injury and ended with a spectacular goal by Pedri, assisted by Lamine Yamal. However, things could have been worse for them.
In the 31st minute, Tchouaméni stopped Dani Olmo with a dangerous tackle, which Barcelona players believed deserved a red card. However, referee Ricardo de Burgos only showed a yellow.
Iturralde González, a refereeing expert for AS, commented on the incident: “Tchouaméni was on the verge of being sent off. He played with fire but didn’t get burned. This was one of those tackles that causes more harm with the body than the foot. It was a very harsh foul. If an orange card existed, it should have been given. Since it doesn’t, a yellow was shown. If he had struck with the studs, it would have been a definite red. He didn’t fully hit the player, which saved him from ejection. But he took a big risk.”
