In this case, the issue of the Club World Cup arises, and FIFA has given players (with agreement) the option to extend their contracts for one month to provide legal coverage for players and coaches (except Ancelotti) whose contracts with their clubs expire.

If they do not stay with their team, it is hard to imagine that their future team would allow them to join in August after their participation in the Club World Cup and mandatory holidays.

Both would be happy to stay at this club, something Modric has previously admitted publicly, but they know that contract renewal is very complicated. Qatar has appeared on the horizon for the Croatian player, and the reality is that both must gradually think about their future.
