Revealed: The reason behind the heated clash between Carvajal and Saka
A bizarre incident occurred between the two halves of the Real Madrid vs. Arsenal match, involving Dani Carvajal and Bukayo Saka. Now, the reason behind it has been revealed.
According to “Varzesh3,” the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-final between Real Madrid and Arsenal was full of excitement and tension, even off the pitch. During halftime, Dani Carvajal, Real Madrid’s captain who was absent due to injury, and Bukayo Saka, Arsenal’s star, created a tense scene that led to a clash between players and coaching staff of both teams.
This incident occurred immediately after the halftime whistle, as players were heading to the dressing rooms. Carvajal, known for his competitive spirit, was waiting for Saka at the tunnel entrance. He was apparently upset with Saka’s “Panenka” penalty attempt, which was saved by Thibaut Courtois. The captain believed Saka intended to humiliate Real Madrid and Courtois at the Bernabéu with this cheeky penalty and was furious about it.
The injured Real Madrid captain approached Arsenal’s No. 7, whispered something in his ear, pushed him in the chest, and then grabbed his arm to continue his protest. Saka tried to pull away, but Carvajal confronted him again, escalating the tension. Several Arsenal players intervened to separate the two. One of Arsenal’s coaching staff even grabbed Carvajal by the back of his neck.
Ben White, Arsenal’s defender, was the last to arrive at the scene and unequivocally supported his teammate, directly confronting Carvajal over his behavior.
This incident occurred while the match was already heated, and this halftime clash added a new chapter to the rivalry between these two European giants.
