According to reports, Leeds United is on the verge of a surprising change in their coaching staff, despite Daniel Farke securing promotion to the Premier League just two days ago.

According to Mail Sport, Leeds United’s management is deliberating whether the former Norwich City manager can ensure the team’s survival in the upcoming Premier League season. No final decision has been made, and there is awareness that such a controversial move could backfire. However, other options to replace Farke are being considered, marking a pivotal moment for the club.

Farke, who is arguably the most successful manager in Championship history with two promotions with Norwich and one with Leeds, secured 94, 97, and 90 points in his three full seasons in the competition. However, his Premier League performance with Norwich—finishing bottom with 21 points in his first season and being sacked after 11 games with 5 points in his second—has prompted Leeds’ American owners to consider a change.

Leeds does not intend to proceed with this decision without a reliable replacement, but there is no guarantee of success, and a poor start by the new manager could create unrest. Farke or any other manager taking charge will face the challenge of building a team capable of surviving in the Premier League.

Names like José Mourinho have previously been linked with the position, but there is a preference for a less high-profile manager. Before appointing Farke, Leeds had attempted to recruit Andoni Iraola, the current Bournemouth manager, but Rayo Vallecano blocked the move at the time.
