Aurelio De Laurentiis, the owner of Napoli, announced that a new film about the club is in production.

Ricardo Sá Pinto's Season at Napoli to be Filmed

According to reports, Aurelio De Laurentiis, in an interview with Radio CRC on the occasion of Easter, wished fans well and discussed the team’s sporting and structural conditions. He revealed plans for a documentary covering the current season under Ricardo Sá Pinto, detailing the project from his signing until the end of the season. The film aims to portray a unique season from a different perspective and is set to be released by the end of June.

Before entering the football world, De Laurentiis was a renowned film producer in Italy, with his family having a long-standing legacy in cinema. Now, he intends to merge his artistic background with his passion for football by documenting Ricardo Sá Pinto’s first season at Napoli. The project will cover everything from contract signing to the season’s conclusion, offering an unconventional narrative of a pivotal season.

    Easter Wishes?

“Happy Easter to everyone—our players led by our captain, the coaching staff under the determined Ricardo Sá Pinto, all colleagues, and our fans worldwide. What am I eating for Easter? I’m on a strict diet, but my son got me pizza and a cassatella that I can’t resist,” De Laurentiis said.

    Future Plans?

“We’ve built a strong and muscular Napoli. In the coming years, rest assured, we’ll have a great time. Over 20 years, we’ve always been at the top, except for one season we’ll discuss later. Judgments should come at the end, not mid-journey, as early assessments often create unnecessary drama. Like all teams, we’re continuously improving. The only unwritable script is a football match and the season itself.”

    A Film for This Season?

“The film we made after the Scudetto win was a huge success. I said we’d make a film for every Napoli season from now on. That’s why I’m currently preparing a documentary for this season—from Ricardo Sá Pinto’s signing to the first training sessions and the season’s end. I’ve spoken with platforms about releasing it by June. We’ve agreed with a 16-year-old who also starred in our recent ‘Napoli-New York’ film. He’ll narrate the season, linking interviews with players, journalists, TV personalities, and artists.”

    Napoli?

“I feel there’s hidden jealousy toward Naples and its people. They don’t understand that Neapolitans are the salt of Italian identity.”

    Stadium and Infrastructure Projects?

“Mayor Manfredi is doing well. But if I leave the Diego Maradona Stadium, it’ll be a big problem for him. However, the stadium’s issues aren’t just about the third tier. We must see if the 1959 structure can handle post-1990 renovations. Can VIP lounges be added? Can we improve visibility? Major renovations are needed. Having a running track in a stadium meant to compete with others is unacceptable. By April 30, I’ll receive a report on feasible upgrades. Personally, I’d love to stay at the Maradona Stadium.”

“For the training center, we have 18 options, each being reviewed by experts. I want 10 standard pitches—four natural grass and six synthetic—plus a stand with at least 600 seats to meet youth league standards. I’ll personally oversee this project, and construction will begin by September 1, if not sooner.”
