Rio Ferdinand:
Manchester United is Still Bigger Than Liverpool
Rio Ferdinand, former Manchester United star, still believes his club holds a higher status than Liverpool.
According to reports, Liverpool secured a dominant 5-1 victory over Tottenham on Sunday, clinching the Premier League title and matching Manchester United’s long-standing record of 20 league titles.
Gary Neville claimed that this success at Anfield ended the long-standing debate about England’s most successful club, describing the moment as ‘bitter’. However, Rio Ferdinand disagreed, stating that United still holds superiority over their rivals.
He said on his YouTube channel, ‘Rio Ferdinand Presents’: “They (Liverpool) are the most successful club in the country, but not the biggest. That’s a fact. Wherever you go in the world, Manchester United has more fans than Liverpool. But if Liverpool continues its success and Manchester United fails to return to the top, this situation will change.
New fans who follow successful teams will shift their allegiance. If Liverpool remains successful over the next decade, it could balance the scales in terms of being the biggest club in the world. But right now, in terms of the biggest club globally, Manchester United undoubtedly holds the advantage.”
