Bukayo Saka intended to perform an original celebration last night but unintentionally revived memories of Thierry Henry for Real Madrid fans.
According to reports, Bukayo Saka missed a penalty in the 13th minute during the match between Real Madrid and Arsenal at the Bernabeu. However, the young English star didn’t lose his composure and scored in the 65th minute to put Arsenal ahead.
His goal was particularly significant as it effectively dashed Real Madrid’s hopes of a comeback after their 3-0 defeat at the Emirates. Real needed to score four goals in less than 30 minutes to force extra time.
This is why Saka’s goal silenced the Bernabeu. Before the match, Saka had practiced a special celebration with his teammates, but in the heat of the moment, he instinctively recreated Thierry Henry’s iconic celebration.
After the match, Saka explained in an interview with Golazzo, where Thierry Henry was a pundit: “I honestly didn’t plan it. I even thought about doing something original. But after scoring, the only thing that came to mind was Thierry and his goal at this very stadium.”
