45 Direct Goal Contributions in a Single Season
Salah’s Historic Record: He Surpasses Henry
Mohamed Salah immediately after renewing his contract with Liverpool broke a historic record in the English Premier League.
According to reports, Mohamed Salah today broke a historic record in Liverpool’s match against West Ham. Just days after the Egyptian star ended concerns about his future, he assisted Liverpool’s first goal, etching his name permanently in Premier League history.
Salah, in the early minutes of the match against West Ham at Anfield, delivered a brilliant technical pass to Luis Díaz, setting him up for Liverpool’s opening goal.
This was Salah’s 18th assist in the current Premier League season. The Egyptian star has also scored 27 goals for Liverpool, bringing his total direct goal contributions to 45—a new historic record in the Premier League.
No player in Premier League history, since the league expanded to 38 matches, has contributed to 45 goals in a single season. Previously, Erling Haaland, Thierry Henry, and Salah jointly held the record with 44 contributions. Today, Salah increased his tally to 45, standing alone at the top of the chart.
