Saudi Arabia’s Newest Wealthy Club Promoted to Professional League
The newly established NEOM FC has secured promotion to the Saudi Professional League with four weeks remaining in the competition.
According to reports, NEOM FC has officially secured promotion to the Saudi Professional League for the first time in its history. This achievement came after a dominant 3-0 victory over Al-Arabi.
The match was part of the 30th round of the Saudi First Division League, known as the Yelo League.
With this win, NEOM increased its points to 69, taking the top spot in the table. The gap between NEOM and its closest rival, Al-Najm, widened to 10 points, with only four weeks left in the season.
NEOM’s three goals in this match were scored by Ahmed Abdu in the 60th and 85th minutes (two goals) and Algerian player Said Benrahma in the 81st minute, securing NEOM’s official promotion to the Professional League.
NEOM FC is one of Saudi Arabia’s emerging and rapidly growing football clubs, attracting attention with a series of high-profile signings. Among these signings are Salman Al-Faraj, Egyptian defender Ahmed Hegazi, and former Brazilian player Romarinho, who previously joined Qatar’s Al-Rayyan.
Additionally, the club acquired Said Benrahma during the last winter transfer window and plans to add several European stars to its squad in the upcoming summer.
